AFL Grand Final on Social Media
The AFL Grand Final is on this Saturday, and I really do not care which team wins.
My team Hawthorn, didn” onclick=”return TrackClick(”,’hp%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2F%40njbrown17′)”t make it (but for another 24 hours we are still the premiers) and the Doggies are out so I can only hope that they belt each other up, get reported and have a crappy start to next season.
But when it comes to social media, St Kilda Football Club not only won the home and away season, they are way ahead over the most exciting week in Melbourne, Grand Final Week.
Geelong is on facebook 2635 fans but I have not found an official twitter site.
St Kilda Football club have both facebook 14,240 fans and twitter @stkildafc 1491 followers and 1520 following.
Both club” onclick=”return TrackClick(”,’hp%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2F%40njbrown17′)”s facebooks are personalized and unlike some AFL facebook sites that just post what is on their website. Geelong have a wall that allows their fans to post as well as comment.

The Saints give a great insight into the club with posts of players birthdays, where players and staff are appearing in the media, photos and any other general information which must be great for St Kilda supporters, and would definitely making you feel part of the club.

Essendon appears to have 2 websites, one linked to the AFL site and another website which has great footy news but looks official too. Essendon facebooks and is also very good with tweeting, and their latest news is tweeted. Essendon also has a great article What is Twitter? on how to go about tweeting with the club. Earlier in the year @AngusMonfries took on Jobe Watson @JobeWatson to try and beat him with the most followers.
