iPad – Bring it on!

Thanks to the Australia It Apple unveils new iPad Tablet we have details and an image of Apple’s new iPad.  I will definitely need a new handbag, but after pens, notebooks and digital stuff, bags come next on my list of loves.,,,,iPad, bring it on….60 days!

APPLE chief Steve Jobs has unveiled the hotly-anticipated iPad tablet this morning, which many have tipped to be a game-changing device between a laptop and the smartphone.

The iPad resembles a larger version of the highly successful iPhone and incorporates many of the original features.

The device comes with 16, 32 or 64GB of memory and will be available worldwide in 60 days.

The iPad will start at $US499 for entry-level model, and users will have to pay more for 3G access, meaning the it will cost $US829 for the 64GB tablet with full functionality.

“We want to kick off 2010 by introducing a truly magical and revolutionary product,” Mr Jobs said at an Apple event in San Francisco.

The iPad has a near life-sized touch keyboard and supports Web browsing. It comes with a built-in calendar and address book, Jobs said.

“Using this thing is remarkable, Jobs said. “It’s so much more intimate and capable than the laptop.”

The CEO demonstrated how the iPad is used for surfing the web with Apple’s Safari browser, calling up the New York Times, loading stories and zooming in on articles.

He typed an email using an on-screen keyboard and flipped through photo albums by flicking his finger across the screen.

Jobs also unveiled the iBookstore at the event, a digital bookshelf with popular titles from publishers Penguin, Harper Collins, Simon Schuster, Macmillan and Hachette.

He said that Amazon had done a great job with the Kindle e-reader, but Apple were “going to stand on their shoulders and go a little bit further.”

Jobs said the iPad will be better for reading books, playing games and watching video than either a laptop or a smart phone.

“All of us use laptops and smartphones now,” he said.

“It’s so much more intimate than a laptop and so much more capable than a smart phone,” Jobs said on Wednesday at the device’s highly anticipated debut in San Francisco.

Now Apple will have to convince consumers, many of whom already have internet-connected phones, computers and TVs, that that’s the case. Tablet computers have existed for a decade, with little success.

Jobs, who returned to the helm last year after a much-scrutinized liver transplant, is hoping to sell consumers on the value of tablet computing after numerous technology companies had failed to do so in recent years.

After months of feverish speculation on the internet and among investors, Jobs took the stage at a jam-packed theatre in San Francisco and, with his famed showman’s flair, began detailing the device’s basic features.

Despite the buzz surrounding the launch and Apple’s storied golden touch on consumer electronics, the tablet is not necessarily an easy sell, analysts say.

Consumer appetite for a gadget that sits somewhere between a smartphone and a laptop has yet to be proven, though plenty of devices such as Amazon.com’s Kindle e-reader are vying for that market.

The ipad seems to be great and will do practically every thing that i want. However, I really wished they had decided to put a video camera in the i-pad. For this amount I do think they should have found a way to add one.

Alot of bloggers not really happy with this new iPad.There was too much hoopla regarding it and alot blogers got disapointed.Quite frankly, I actually see great deal of the cool potential of this gadget. Third-party applications for composing tunes, games, newsprints and magazine and FFS books, all kinds of neat stuff, but IMHO they just didn’t really sell it very well (excluding the books). It smells kind of undercooked
