We all seem to know about Movember which I was involved with through Gala nights at my marketing stint with Bondi in San Diego,US. Also I was good for a donation with @Agent_K13 participating. But have you heard about FebFast, a charity that is now in its third year of operation.
They double dare you to grab a friend and take a break from booze for a month.
The thing I like about it is Timeout! You don’t have to miss out on a special event! You can purchase a $25 date stamped Time Out, a certificate to have a guilt-free day off from your FebFast. Maybe you want a friend to have a night out with you, then buy them a timeout certificate. It all goes to a good cause.
And just like Movember, you can sign up or sponsor a friend.
Past participants have also said that they have lost weight, saved money, slept better and gained more energy during this month.
FebFast works to reduce the impact of alcohol and other drugs on young Australians by raising funds to support organisations working in research, prevention and service delivery concerning alcohol and other drugs use by young people.
Over the past two years they have seen more than 3,500 people take up the FebFast challenge to give up the grog for amonth. Collectively these people have raised more than $700,000 to support their cause.
Funds from our last two campaigns have been distributed to 13 organisations around Australia.
Proceeds from their 2010 registration and fundraising efforts will be shared amongst the Australian Drug Foundation (that operates nationally), YSAS (the Youth Substance Abuse Service) in Victoria, The Ted Noffs Foundation in NSW and the ACT, Mater Hospital’s Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Withdrawal Service in Queensland and FebFast’s grants program for smaller grass-roots organisations.
Donations to FebFast are tax deductible in Australia. So check out their website FebFast at http://www.febfast.com.au/index.html. and think about joining or sponsoring someone.

The first question on every woman’s lips when she receives an invitation to a black tie event, a wedding, a graduation ball or just a girl’s night out is usually… “What am I going to wear?”
Celebrities and Socialites have been borrowing clothing for functions for years. Why should this not be available to stylish women without the cost of a complete outfit. Men have been renting tuxedos forever, now it is our turn to have access to beautiful designer clothing, without the complete cost of the designer costume on your credit card and maybe never wear the piece again.
