Congrats, AC/DC
AC/DC have won music’s highest honour, a Grammy. The band won the best hard rock performance statuette for the song War Machine, beating past winners Metallica and Linkin Park as well as Nickelback and Alice in Chains.

When it comes to their music video “It’s a long way to the top if ya wanna rock n roll” David Olney is named as camaraman at the time, the age.com.au AC/DC still current 30 years on and Wikapedia, but there were few more, one being my Dad @morrice1951. There were cameramen positioned in a building, on the truck and alongside. You didn’t have the luxury of shooting for days with lots of takes. It was let’s go…. down Swanston Street, stop at the lights at Bourke Street and on we went.
“We told the council and the police,” said director Paul Drane. “But they didn’t seem to mind. There were no streets shut, there was no problem. It’s crazy, I know. These days it would take months to get through the red tape.”
As Dad says, “Life was like that at the time on ABC’s Countdown, video clips were just part of the week. Now-a-days they are full scale productions.”
